The holidays

Whatever you celebrate may it be happy. In the mean time I dislike the holidays. The greed of it gets to me. My kids forgot the whole supposed to be being good for Santa notion this year and just have outrageous lists of things they expect simply because they exist. Not how it works guys but due to circumstances beyond my control I apparently cannot just cancel Christmas. But I can be belligerent and refuse to shop until certain conditions are met (or I have absolutely no more time to procrastinate.) I can also make sure that presents are mostly practical and necessary in function. Besides I am on a very limited budget this year -again. Sadly running out of time is more likely at this point. I continue to get orders which I thank you all for. I haven't finished the step Neice and nephews blankets yet but working on them. Oh well rant over - wanted to just check in.

Thinking

Not sure if anyone reads this but I do it for me mostly anyway. As an alibi - no not really. Nice to see progress and past projects how things have changed new things I have learned etc.
titled this one thinking because I have seen an influx of video blogs lately. Thought I would give it a try maybe. Let people ask questions show what I have made hopefully get orders drum up etsy sales or custom requests. Maybe even get some requests for online lessons? Worth a shot maybe. Will see what I can do.
In knitting news finished a scarf in the waiting room of the local er last night. Hubby's aunt wasn't feeing well. Christmas afghans are going well think I need to add more to them both though. Need at least a 5th ball of yarn for each maybe a 6th. I want the kids to be able to use them for a long time. Maybe I shouldn't worry about it too much. Both are teens and teens are rough on bedding. We will see.

Thanksgiving

Happy thanksgiving.
I am thankful for my family and yarn and my dog and oh so many other things that I can't remember to list. Spent a day with the family (I will post a photo below of some of them - don't tell them haha) and then after food went and got my dog took her for a quick walk and she hung out at the Inlaws. She is an awesome dog. And she helps me thru my mood swings. Hubby has to work tonight - stupid Black Friday. Oh well. Oh! I am also thankful for Netflix - which I am about to turn on as a i work on the next hat that was ordered from Etsy. Hope you all had a great one.

Progress

Always a nice thing to see. Like me getting better at posting. Working on a the nieces afghan. Have about a foot or so done. But it's nice to see it go from nothing to something. It will slow down from here and be harder to see the progress until it makes some major gains. But thought I'd share. I am pleased so far.

Open mouth insert yarn.

Lots and lots of yarn. Not that I am not totally thrilled. Going to make the Neice n nephew blankets. Probably more as an after Xmas thing. Kim will want one too but she can work on it herself. I taught her to knit. Well she's starting. She'll get there. In the mean time I am here. Comments welcome custom orders considered and large daunting tasks overcome.

Never done

Knitting with ADD means that I am never done. It's nerve wrecking. I sit at the "real job" making lists of things I could be doing or what I'd rather be doing or things I want to make (like I need to start anything new really?)   I just need to get it out of my head and on paper though. It gets loud in there.
I finished Colby's blanket. I love it. Really don't want to give it up. I love it that much. I also had a moment where I felt bad. Colby is my natural nephew but he has two older step siblings. I don't make things for them like I do for him so I think I am going to resolve that. More blankets. They may not get done by Christmas.
And then there are the other things. The shark afghan. A slew of hats for cold heads. Jayne hats. Slippers. I need a team of elves. Do you think Santa offers elf rentals?

Awful photo. Better one later but I am proud of it.

Bedtime blogging

I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open but I thought I should pop in and say hello. Got the father & son hats mailed finally. Had some printer issues that hubby needed to resolve. Got to spend a little time with the nephew tonite. He's a cutie. Then started a new project - ha because I needed another one right?? At least this one I may finish before Christmas. Making the wee man a blankie of his very own. He got several when he was born so I waited. Now with another little brother or sister on the way I thought he could use something special. Or I just like to spoil him. Not sure which is most true. Doing a randomly striped square. I have a pin for a random stripe generator I found on Pinterest that gave me the counts. Will have to keep you posted as the blanket progresses. But the start is below. It's a little bigger now but I didn't have the forethought to get a photo before I came upstairs. Busy weekend ahead. Two more hats ordered and if this blanket goes well I may make a few more and put them out for sale as well. We will see. Got to get something on there. Oh well that's a problem for tomorrow. (Or at the moment later today ).

Veterans Day

Happy Veterans Day to all who have or are or will serve. Thank you. I had a day off. Got up early took kid No.1 to choir went back to bed. Got up knit made lunch knit Some more. Whole point is I am grateful that I have the freedom to do this. To make choices to have a lazy day.

The wip:
Today is Jayne hats. Feels like it's always Jayne hats anymore. I actually have a couple made ahead so I shouldn't need to make any for a while. Not that I mind. I just like to mix it up too. Finishing what I assume is a father and sons hat. (Adult and a 3 year old's) first time I have done a baby Jayne hat. Was a nice challenge. May try some child and kid sizes in the future.
Watched arrow on Netflix while I worked. I love Netflix.

Had a week off

I know I haven't posted in ages I am a random blogger at best. Sold out on etsy this week. Woo. Sold an ugly (read firefly) hat a cow and a sheep. Also got signed up to do charity sheep. Should be fun. Just posting some cute photos to update you all on what I have done lately.
And of course a few of the big bad wolf helping out.

Randoms.

Must be more than an occasional blogger. I know this. But so much is going on. So let's see what to tell. Last month I made sheep for a friend who works with a biker charity - it's just fun to say. The bikers club has a toy drive in October. They do a year round thing providing baby afghans to new moms and babies who need them for a variety of reasons too. Which is awesome but I always have so many things I rarely get a while afghan done. So I helped with the toy drive. Making Sheeps. There are some of them listed below. And some of the other donations they got. Looks like they did really well. There's 14 or 16 sheep in all. Can't remember. The second photo is my favorite one. Need to make a second one like that for me. Of course I thought I would try some stuffed things on Etsy. Not a bad idea Ever. More photos. Lol - the cow and white sheep sold. As of now the purple and grey sheep hasn't. Also just saw an older post with some of this info in it. I will publish both so sorry for any carry over info.

I need to see about format editing here change the layout and size of the photos. I really rather type around them instead of them being at the end. But they are large. Something for next time I guess. Any help on that from you all out there would be lovely.

So what I am working on now. More Jayne hats. Seems like they will be a staple until Foxie is no more. Would be nice to branch out some. The doctor who scarf from hell is still ongoing closer to done though. About 5/6 of the way there. Yeah me. Think I will make my brother a striped hat to go with it.
Working on a shark afghan too. Still in the beginning stages. I.e. It's a body no fins tail or eyes. Or teeth they're kinda important too. My blanket for my sister in law is coming along slowly. Trying to work on it in between but there isn't much of that. Not that I spend all my time knitting. It's just between two kids a house and a full time job - plus the knitting for a little side money - I don't have a lot of free time. Although I seem to spend a lot of time on Pinterest looking for new fun things. But that can be done waiting in line for coffee (which I don't drink - tea maybe) or waiting for a kid to get their shoes on so you can take them to school. Oh well enough ranting.

More photos of new things soon. Love you all Bunches.

Sick kid means a day for knitting

It's like a snow day for me. Sorta. Lil one has a fever and stuffy nose so I let her skip today. Bonus I get to skip too. Started dinner making some lunch looking at patterns and trying to decide what next. Think I will stick with what I know. It's what people here seem to like. These are the two last scarve I made. Look it's the cables. I will be cables out by the time this is done.

More of the same. Less time between posts though.

Lots going on and that makes it hard to find more than a minute or two to sit still and knit. I would love to take it with me more often and I may just have to do so. Working on scarves still somewhat. It's cold out so that's what works right now. Made some cute stuff for my nephews - I will post photos below. And may be making a diaper cover for a newborn (photo shoot thing) we will see. The big bad wolf is off at doggie boot camp learning all the things I can't seem to teach her so I am taking advantage and trying to get things done. We will see how hat goes but to help the process I have gone so far as to delete evil things like candy crush and other games from the phone. So you know that means I am serious 😉.
Current work in progress
Joshua's giraffe
Colby's seal. So nice someone appreciates something I made.

Oh and one last thing. I think these are neat. It's a beekeeper quilt from ravlery but I really hate paying for patterns and really it is a lot of peices. Thinking of tweaking it a bit. Like simpler and larger shapes. Because I don't have time to make and stuff 4 thousand (really it's like 200 but may as well be 4 thousand. ) lil shapes and then sew them all together so we'll see what I can do but its a back burner thing right now.

Scarves

Seems to the time of year for them.  Finished these three this week. I really need to get more done and I need to start getting some things online. Either on square or etsy soon. Just so much I want to do and yet I only have two hands. I wish I could get paid to knit/crochet and talk to you. Would be nice would it not?

Finishing

I love making things. I really hate finishing them. This applies to all things crafts included. Finishing up a Death Star - photos later - which means I now have to sew the circle laser part on then add lines to make it look like a Death Star and not a big grey sphere. It's a pain. Why can't things just magically finishing themselves :) in the mean time I am thinking about doing a blanket made of small squares (crazy fool I am because that means lots of sewing!) but the end results will be super cute and hopefully go on etsy for sale. Oh well we will see what happens.

New Years same stuff

So it's New Year's Day and I have slept too late (til noon almost) and am now sitting here thinking what I need to get into. Probably finishing all the things I didn't get done last year would be a good starting point.
