Finally
I have it finished. It took longer than expected mostly because I got distracted but I am pretty happy with the end result.

Final thought
I should have been in bed 45 mins ago. But I've been reading. I'm going to try selling things to help me reach some goals (like making more money, working less hours at my real job, and knitting more!) However if it can help me get a laptop and some stuff for the house too that'd be ok with me. I like that this is something that will have repeat business (refills on scents or add'l warmers for other rooms) without me having to be pushy. It's also the most laid back sales thing I've seen with party options and online sales. Although I will have to sell about $100 a month to justify the website. Overall seems like a good idea and with a simple start up if I don't love it I can stop and make use of the kit products (worth more than just the items within). Here's hoping.

Alpaca
Kinda like a cross between llamas and sheep. So cute. So soft... Such lovely yarn... I went to the Alpaca farm this afternoon. They had an open house. I think lil bug is going to end up in the paper - the photographer took her picture anyway. I learned several things. 1) I do not react to alpaca like I do to regular wool(very very cool). 2) it is super super soft and what they had there was a much lighter weight the I am used to or expected. 3) if my yarn comes from there - and I would like it to (support local people) when I finally get a chance to make something just for me I'm going to need to save my pennies. However they had several things already knitted that I would LOVE to have. Several very pretty sweaters, some scarves, long finger-less gloves, socks, hats etc...but again with me needing more pennies. I don't know if their shop has items listed on their site but if so here's me doing a lil free advertising for them. WWW.stonemeadowalpacas.com . Very cool lil spot. Very very pretty yarns... Must go back sometime.
Jess' baby afghan
This isn't a hard pattern but it becomes Huge. 196 are on a needle it's bound to be huge. And I even went with smaller needles. Oh well still not bad it I just say so myself. Needs washed and blocked oh and wrapped... But it's finished and I am happy.

Thinking
Yes I know that's dangerous. 8) however it's something we all do occasionally. I've had people ask in the past if I'd make things to sell. And its something I've considered off and on. Started thinking about it today after someone mentioned Christmas shopping. Could definetly use a little extra money for that this year. And doing something I enjoy/ makes people happy seems like a better way to make a little extra than a second job I loathe. I only really know how to do flat things. Must branch out eventually if I'm ever going to make my lil band of misfits Christmas stockings to hang (be nicer if we had somewhere to hang them). But in the meantime baby blankets are Always in demand (so many pregnant people in the area. It's nuts!) And they're quick and easy to do. (And I like to think I do them reasonably well). Will have to put some feelers out... Thinking is dangerous.

Disappointment
Started the green and white afghan. Although I really like the chevron ripple pattern I don't think I can use it for this. The two afghans are going to the same house and I think the ripple is going to be HUGE. You start with 196 sets. Granted it's a pretty sharp ripple but I would like to have them closer to the same size. And the only way to do that for sure is to use the same pattern. They're different colors so that should be ok. If I had done the ripple pattern before and knew exactly what the end result looked like/ how it measured it would be different. Maybe I'll use it for that blue one I need to do.

Ouch
So my wrist hurts. Wrist probably isn't accurate it's the area just behind my wrist and down my arm on the right side of my right arm. But the end result is still that it hurts, well aches. Tylenol/advil help but I'm looking the cause. And was thinking that because I was knitting more than I had been that knitting was the cause (its nice to have projects and time to do them again!)
Picture me crying here.. :*( where this really does seem likely I have reviewed a couple of articles online that said the size of the needles/ way you hold the work may be the cause more than the knitting. 8) I'm hoping so. I did just go to smaller needles for the yellow and white blanket... Here's to hoping...

Random
blogging!
I haven't done as much work on my projects as I'd like lately *and there are plenty of things I'd like to be doing* but I'm hoping to turn that around in the next few days. Need to get the baby blankets done - need to find out when Jess is due.. Other than that some cleaning, some cooking as needed, some much needed R&R. Would like to get the sewing machine out and running before Sarah's too big for the patterns I have. Oh well they can always head down south once she outgrows them. Need to get that ever looming denim quilt stated too. That I think is probably going to my unfinished masterpiece. Oh well i do some, Sarah maybe does some, her children and grandchildren can finish it. :) but only if i get it started.
